Matariki

                                                               ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜ŽMatariki day๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜†

Yay Matariki was so much fun. Kia ora every one, for those who don't know what Matariki it is celebrating the Maori new year. Matariki was on the 23rd of July.To celebrate the Maori new year we made kites (manu tukutuku), Maori read and a stop motion about how Matariki started at Waikowhai Primary School in Te Waka Ako. This is my first Matariki and I had lodes of fun and learnt new things like how to make Maori bread and it tasted delicious. We did all of this in three session in the first session we made kites but they do not fly we also had to group up and make it together. In the second session we made Maori bread in a group and last we made a stop motion on how Matariki started. My favorite part was making kites. We made them out of three sticks, paper, string and feathers. Here is the link to my stop motion link. If you want to make Maori bread you will need 3 and a half cups of flour and some water. Here are pictures of the day.

Cross Country

                                                          ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽฝ๐ŸƒCross country๐Ÿ๐ŸŽฝ๐Ÿƒ
If you love running or run really fast then cross country is for you, kia ora everyone yesterday the 2ND of  July it was Cross country for Waikowhai primary School. Wow!I'm exhausted, for cross country the year sixes had to do some  activities with the different year groups. We were split into 6 stations to do   activities with the different year groups. I was in station 2 we did warm ups for the run, played duck duck goose and cheered the people that were racing. They were really fast, and so was I !!!!WE had to do a big loop around the school, the year sixes ran last. I liked that the games and warm ups were really fun. The thing I did not like at all was that the year sixes had to run two laps around the whole school. Then some of our parents came and had lunch with us, my mum and dad came and we had pizza for lunch.
